1% Micro Retinol Bubble Facial Oil

This facial oil is unique, and I like it even more than expected!
I will say that my skin is pretty accustomed to retinoids, so mileage may vary. However, I have been finding this to be some of the most gentle retinol I've experienced (and I've tried a lot). It is uniquely contained in little spheres suspended in the facial oil, so applying it is like applying a buffer and a retinol all at once. The oil texture is light, not greasy or heavy, and although it does say it is lightly scented with natural damask rose, it is very very faint. It absorbs well and doesn't leave a huge grease spot on my silk pillowcase (and those are the worst to show you every bit of oil that rubs off).
Using this oil serum allows me to skip a step/layer, and even after just a couple of weeks, I find my skin looking smoother and more hydrated.
Even the bottle is unique, as it is a large, thin rectangular bottle that seems like it would be obtrusive but slides in well amongst all my other skincare bottles.

If you don't know Dr. Youn from Youtube, he's a "holistic" plastic surgeon and skincare expert who happens to have a great personality (some of his videos are hilarious.) When I was given the chance to try this Dēpology retinol oil and realized it is a new release from Dr. Youn's skincare line...I was maaaybe a little too excited :) Since I started using retinol and oils, my skin has looked so much healthier. The trick for me though is that retinol can't be too drying or it does more harm than good, but if it's too gentle it won't be very effective on under eye grooves and forehead lines. This formula seems to be the missing link for my skin, because the retinol bubbles are potent but they are delivered in a gentle, nourishing oil that softens and smooths. I haven't even been using it long and yet am already waking up in the morning finding my under eye circles and forehead fine lines barely noticeable, where previously they seemed to be getting more pronounced. I also love the price point. $40 is about my limit for a skincare "splurge" so this retinol oil will definitely be reordered when my trial bottle runs out.

The texture is silky and easy to spread across my face.

The best thing about this is how quickly it sinks into the skin. No greasy film, no heaviness, just instant hydration and softness. I can use it before makeup with no problem at all.

Even my sensitive skin tolerated it without redness.
